Dr Ford's goal is to have a simple blood test available at your regular visit to a GP. This test will not require waiting for symptoms to present, it will be done during your annual physical exam.
Why not keep the money in Canada? All research done in this area is done as a global team, and Dr Ford's team is leading the way in the development of this test.
